London is romantic all year round and as a Valentine’s Day baby, I feel particularly qualified to say so.
Whether you’re planning a dreamy date, celebrating something special, or simply romanticising your own life (which I fully support), this city delivers every single time.
From riverside strolls and blossom-filled parks to opulent hotels, candlelit restaurants and flower-filled streets, here are my favourite romantic places in London.
Romantic Walks Along the Thames
If you want to feel like you’re in London, start by the river.
There is something undeniably romantic about the Thames, the historic buildings, the bridges, the skyline unfolding as you walk.
Begin at the iconic Houses of Parliament and cross Westminster Bridge, where you’ll see the magnificent London Eye.
From there, stroll east along the river:
-
St Paul’s Cathedral
-
Millennium Bridge
-
HMS Belfast
-
And finally, the ever-romantic Tower Bridge
Tower Bridge is pure magic — especially at sunset. You can even walk across the glass walkway at the top (slightly scary… but some would say thrillingly romantic).

Tower Bridge
Finish at St Katharine Docks for harbour reflections and golden hour views. Alternatively, cross to Butler’s Wharf for waterside restaurants and twinkling lights.
Belgravia to Battersea: A Dreamy London Stroll
One of my favourite romantic London walks starts in Belgravia and ends in Battersea Park.
Begin near Elizabeth Street, home to pastel boutiques and florals spilling onto pavements.
Walk through Chelsea along the famous King’s Road, then wander down Cheyne Walk, where blue plaques and quiet backstreets create a more intimate atmosphere.
Cross the beautifully pastel Albert Bridge — my second favourite bridge in London — and enter Battersea Park for leafy pathways and riverside views.
It’s romantic, peaceful and endlessly photogenic.
The Most Romantic Parks in London
If you ask me, London’s Royal Parks are where the real romance lives.
Regent’s Park & Primrose Hill
Regent’s Park is breathtaking in spring. Cherry blossom creates a pink canopy overhead, and Queen Mary’s Rose Garden feels like a secret haven in the middle of the city.
Stroll along the Broad Walk, then head to Primrose Hill for sweeping skyline views — one of the most romantic viewpoints in London.
Nearby, Little Venice and Clifton Nurseries offer canal walks and botanical beauty.
Kensington Gardens & Hyde Park
If there is one place I tell everyone to visit, it’s Kensington Gardens.
The Sunken Garden (loved by Princess Diana), blossom near the Albert Memorial, golden autumn leaves, winter frost — it gives romance in every season.
Cross into Hyde Park for lakeside walks around the Serpentine, or wander toward Buckingham Palace via St James’s Park, which offers one of the most beautiful views in the city — London Eye one way, Buckingham Palace the other.
Greenwich Park
For something slightly different, head to Greenwich Park. The historic architecture and hilltop views feel cinematic — genuinely proposal-worthy.
Isabella Plantation Richmond Park
Further out, Richmond Park is home to the Isabella Plantation — a colourful, enclosed garden that blooms spectacularly in spring.
Romantic Museums (That Are Free!)
Love doesn’t have to cost a thing.
London has some of the most romantic museums in the world:
-
Victoria and Albert Museum – marble staircases, intricate architecture, and a dreamy café beneath glowing chandeliers.
-
The Wallace Collection – pastel interiors and a romantic courtyard café.
-
The National Gallery – home to masterpieces (and yes, Van Gogh).
Perfect for slow afternoons and meaningful conversation.
Romantic Theatre & Ballet
Nothing says romance quite like dressing up for the ballet.
The Royal Opera House in Covent Garden is spectacularly opulent. Think champagne, velvet seats, rooftop views and soaring music.
It’s the kind of place that makes you want to wear your most beautiful dress.
The Most Romantic Florists in London
Flowers are my love language.
Some of my favourite romantic florists include:
-
Neill Strain Floral Couture (Belgravia & Mayfair) – ever-changing, luxurious displays.
-
Wild Things Flowers – flower buckets spilling onto the street.
-
Moyses Stevens
-
The iconic floral displays at Liberty London
If you’re visiting during Chelsea Flower Show season, the surrounding neighbourhoods bloom with creative installations.
Romantic Cafés in London
If your love language is coffee and croissants, London has you covered.
A few dreamy favourites:
-
Peggy Porschen – pink perfection.
-
Tomtom Coffee House
-
Wolfox Savoy
-
Italian Bear Chocolate – outrageously indulgent hot chocolate.
-
The Wolseley – iconic, glamorous breakfasts.
I personally adore breakfast dates — you get to see the interiors in all their glory.
Romantic Restaurants in London
For candlelight and atmosphere, try:
-
Coppa Club Tower Bridge – cosy riverside igloos with Tower Bridge views.

-
The Lanesborough
-

-
The Savoy
-
Claridge’s
-

Even if you’re not staying overnight, pop in for tea, a cocktail, or simply to admire the interiors.
Final Thoughts: Romanticising London (At Any Stage of Life)
Whether you’re single, dating, celebrating an anniversary, or simply spending time alone – London is made for romance.
I spent many years single here, wandering parks, reading on benches, visiting museums and cafés solo. Romance doesn’t have to be about someone else – it can be about how you experience a place.
And in my opinion, London makes it very easy to fall in love.
