Autumn in London is one of my favourite times of year. The city feels like a film set with golden leaves falling in royal parks, flower shops swapping pastel blooms for jewel tones, and cafés dressed up with pumpkins. Every corner feels Instagrammable.
This blog is my growing love letter to autumn in London. I’ve been walking all over the city to find the prettiest seasonal spots from Belgravia’s pink pumpkins to fiery ivy-covered houses in Notting Hill. I’ll keep adding new photos as the season unfolds, so you can use this guide to plan your own autumn walk.
This blog is about autumn in London but you can find my very popular blog on Halloween here:

Queen’s Wood Cafe Highgate 🍂
Have you ever discovered a little café that feels like it’s straight out of a magical autumn film?
This is Queen’s Wood Café in Highgate, North London – a cosy little woodland hideaway with wooden interiors, twinkling lights, bookshelves and a beautiful community garden.
Think Practical Magic meets Gilmore Girls, with lovely coffee, a relaxed atmosphere and the feeling of being tucked away in the woods, even though it’s surprisingly easy to reach.
We stopped for a flat white and cappuccino, explored the cosy café and garden, and discovered a little spot that we’d love to revisit when the autumn leaves have turned.
If you’re looking for a magical café in London, a cosy autumn day out or a little woodland escape, this one’s worth adding to your list. 🌿

Bloomsbury and Dalloway Terrace 🌸
Dalloway Terrace is super close to Tottenham Court Road and is a super cute spot for lunch. It has been a few years since I went so the decor will be even more special now. It changes throughout the seasons too. It looks lovely at Christmas.

St Paul’s Cathedral in Autumn 🍁
St Paul’s Cathedral is so incredible in autumn especially when the sun comes out, lighting up the famous dome. St Paul’s has tall trees which frame the building during fall. And London traffic also helps to set the scene with red buses and black taxis swooping by.
I love the autumn flowers including a few roses, clusters of pink Japanese anemones which contrast beautifully with the dark green
Silver leaf yellow sunflowers add joyful autumnal pops of colour and travel from the two young lovers statue into the Festival garden via the little waterfall.

Tower of London in Autumn 🍁
Tower of London is a brilliant day out and it is rammed full of information on its bloody past. First things first, the ticket price is fairly steep so make sure you have plenty of time to spend here – at least half a day. Secondly, try and go when it is likely to be quieter – avoid school holidays if poss. Third, you’re around the corner from Borough Market, Tower Bridge and Southbank so go and explore afterwards.
The building itself is super impressive and you can have a guided tour for free (which I did!) The Crown Jewels are so impressive and you will literally be in the place that poor Anne Boleyn was beheaded and the famous Princes in the Tower were found. There’s also a cafe within the grounds if you fancy lunch.
I was pleasantly surprised to find these incredible autumn trees framing the blue historic Tower Bridge. This was shot on a trip to Tower of London in mid October.

Harry Potter Locations in Autumn 🍁
An Autumn video wouldn’t be complete without Harry Potter where 1st September marks back to Hogwarts day.
The stop offs I recommend if you’re a Potter fan and you’d like to channel that new term energy include King’s Cross, St Pancras Hotel, Leadenhall Market and House of MinaLima in Soho. I have a full Harry Potter video with all the locations in my Autumn and Halloween playlist.
Harry Potter Autumn Location King’s Cross
First of all platform 9 and 3/4 at King’s Cross is so famous from the books and film and you can find the official photo spot next to the shop. There’s often a queue as it is very popular. You can take your own photos or buy the official snaps.
The shop is full of Hogwarts merch with every house represented and every single wand!
Elsewhere in the station there’s plenty of quieter places to take photos if you don’t have time to queue inclusing the bridge and under the arches.
And if you’re getting on a train, look out for platforms 4 and 5 where the real platform 9 and 3/4 was filmed.
Imagine if the Hogwarts Express rolled in? I would love that!

St Pancras Hotel – Harry Potter Location
Next door St Pancras was used for the external scenes in Chamber of Secrets – remember the flying car scene?
Inside St Pancras London Hotel, the vibes are distinctly Harry Potter coded even if they’re not in the movie. The decor is dark and dramatic, making it a fab place to visit.
And why not take a look at the gothic staircase, also famous for Sprice Girls who filmed their debut single Wannabe here. The very top set of stairs are incredible with a beautiful green domed ceiling with golden stars on it. I swear Dumbledore would approve! There’s vibrant patterned carpets, detailed wallpaper and stain glass window.

St Pancras London
Leadenhall Market Harry Potter Autumn Location
Leadenhall Market in the city has rich red and green paintwork, very Gryfindor vs Slytherin if you ask me. A perfect Autumnal spot, this Victorian Market was used in the very first Harry Potter film, where Hagrid leads Harry into the Leaky Cauldron. On the site these days stands Two Eyes Coffee House. Elsewhere you’ll find shops, cafes and bars.

Leadenhall Market
House of MinaLima
House of Mina Lima is a more luxury Harry Potter shop from the design studio behind the graphic props from the films. It is on Wardour Street in Soho and is well worth a mooch around.
