Hello London lovers! The festive season is here once again! We all know it officially starts on 1 November when Mariah Carey transitions from her Halloween outfit to her iconic Christmas look, signalling…IT’S TIMEEEE! Christmas in London is a magical place and it is also a busy place. I’ve rounded up the best Christmas decorations in London for 2024. Some of the decorations aren’t up yet, so if you need inspiration, look to my Instagrammable Christmas Decorations from 2023.
Christmas at Covent Garden London for 2024
I went to wonderful Covent Garden and am pleased to report these decorations are the same as last year – hurrah! This money-shot sleigh it next to where the street performers are. And there’s the cute semi circle of trees at the bottom of James Street. I’ve failed EVERY TIME to get a shot of the huge tree. It is too big and too busy. I got these quiet shots at 9am.
Miracle Christmas Bar on Henrietta Street Covent Garden for 2024
While you’re in Covent Garden you might want to head to THE most Christmassy Bar in London. Miracle Pop Up Bar is in the Henrietta Hotel and is an 80s Christmas decoration extravaganza. They tried to seat us on a sharing table (despite booking) so instead we sat at the bar – which in my opinion is where all the festive action is. You need to book although I think there might be occasional space for walk ins! It was easy to take Instagrammable shots at the bar sipping cocktails – a Christmapolitan (festive Cosmo cocktail darling). Plus there’s a festive throne for extra sass!
Christmas at Fortnum & Mason in London, Piccadilly for 2024
A stunning advent calendar facade awaits you with ‘2024’ down the side. It glows a glorious red colour at night. You’ll also find fun Christmas windows featuring festive animals. Plus a fabulous orange and pink arch on the side of the building – Duke Street side. Inside you’ll find the very best Christmas gifts. From posh tea (and Afternoon Tea), to fancy Christmas decorations to incredible hampers, to delicious sweets and chocolates. You’ll also spot the spectacular dancing golden pine cones which replace last year’s dancing puddings.
Christmas at Annabel’s, Berkeley Square, London
Annabel’s excels at Christmas with huge displays each year which take over the whole facade. For 2024, the Berkeley Square private members club features a proud peacock with a pastel shimmering tail against a icy blue backdrop. It is a challenge to get photos, although not impossible! Annabel’s is on a very busy square but there are breaks in traffic. This was snapped from across the road on my iPhone.
Cartier on Bond Street for 2024
Ok so this is the MOST Instagrammable but I also think it is a challenge. You’ll need good timing, a little luck and a lot of patience. Over the years I have got SOME OK shots here but I am in awe of all the Instagram goddesses who have nailed this one. I’d recommend trying to get this one on weekdays because at least it is a little quieter. Your photographer (or reluctant other half) will generally need to be on the other side of the road and you’ll also note there are phone boxes and trees on this side to make use of. Your main problem is traffic and people traffic. If there’s a van parked or loads of people, there’s not much you can do. Think outside the box and remain calm! For 2024 Cartier is space themed with a beautiful central planet surrounded by golden rings and stars. Lovely.
Ralph Lauren on Bond Street for 2024
Bond Street’s Christmas corner has another jewel in the crown thanks to the classic festive beauty of Ralph Lauren. There’s deep blue store front contrasted with the glitzy decorations and the beautiful luxury Christmas Tree. If you’re lucky enough, you can grab a coffee at Ralph’s Cafe on the outside tables for a prime time view of Cartier and all the people watching of Cartier.
Christmas at Koyn Restaurant with Red Mini Cooper, Mayfair London
I’ve never eaten at Koyn Restaurant but I really want to! I’ve seen so many incredible and festive pictures of this festive red mini cooper on Grosvenor Street in Mayfair. There’s a dramatic red bow around the doorway and a Christmas tree sits on top of the car. Shooting straight on means you miss the less-than-cute street signs.
Christmas at Dior on Bond Street for 2024
Oh MY I always adore the Dior windows the MOST and they are so super high, it’s hard to get YOU and the display in the shot. But I can tell you will manage it! This location is a quieter little corner of Bond Street (versus the chaos of the Cartier corner) but still it is VERY popular. For 2024 they are decorated with beautiful glowing seahorses with coral stars. I failed to get a good shot of myself at 4pm on a drizzly Sunday so I’ll include previous years for reference too.
Chanel on Bond Street – Christmas in London 2024
Ok this year Chanel is really winning Bond Street with the main Christmas lights having the classic Chanel double ‘C” and perfume bottles. If that’s not enough, the Chanel jewellery boutique next to Cartier is decked out with stars. The main Chanel boutique is all wrapped up in a Chanel tweed black and white bow. What a triumph!
Tiffany Bond Street for Christmas 2024
Ok let’s complete the Christmas corner on Bond Street with the festive display at Tiffany right near Cartier. It’s plays beautifully on the Tiffany blue where a sparkling curtain is raised by diamond covered birds tot reveal the iconic store underneath. My photo is terrible. Sorry about that, it was raining, will head back and take another soon!
Louis Vuitton Christmas in London 2024
I love Louis Vuitton’s Christmas windows, this year is Joyeuses Fete so we have luxury and colourful carousels. Beautiful! It is right across from Dior – hence why everyone is facing away in the photo!
Wicked Christmas Tree at St Pancras Station, London
To celebrate the new Wicked film with Ariana Grande, there’s a giant Wicked Christmas Tree at St Pancras train station in London. Well it’s more like a palace than a tree but I like it! It’s free to visit and you can stroll past at any time. It is pretty big so I suggest taking a picture from next to it, but also head up on the escalators to take snaps and videos from the floor above looking down. I made this perfect pink witches hat for Halloween – find out more here!
The Clermont Hotel, Victoria
I visited The Clermont Hotel last week for the most incredible Wicked themed Festive Afternoon Tea! It’s gonna be popular! Any excuse to get my witch hat out! Everything was pink and green – from the Christmas decorations to the cocktails! A Good Cocktail with raspberry puree and a Wicked one with kiwi puree. I loved the dramatic arrival of the afternoon tea with smoke cascading down! Despite working in Belgravia for YEARS I didn’t know The Clermont Hotel was practically IN Victoria station! So this was a very happy discovery. Especially with that incredible Christmas tree.
Rooftop Igloo at John Lewis on Oxford Street
The 1864 Rooftop Bar is my new favourite! These cute Christmassy igloos on the rooftop of John Lewis are fab for festive parties. Sip on seasonal cocktails like the Baked Apple and Cinnamon Martini, Blackberry Bramble or the Sloe Jam—each one a taste of Christmas in a glass. Small plates include spiced hummus, Crispy fried chicken and Chorizo croquettes. Feeling hungrier? Try the Pulled Chicken Salad or the Braised Beef Cheek. Every dish is crafted for comfort and indulgence. Get the fire on in the igloo and order a mulled wine! I liked going in the day for bright festive photos.
Christmas at Neill Strain, Mayfair, London
Neill Strain full embraces the seasons and Christmas is no exception! This year I’d recommend the Mayfair store (there is a gorgeous branch in Knightsbridge but I failed to get a good picture and it was quite different to this). In 2024, Neill Strain’s Mayfair luxury florist has been transformed into a Christmas wonderland.
Winter Wonderland in Hyde Park London 2024
Now I know Winter Wonderland has become FAMOUS famous. And it has got bigger and bigger each year. If I want to take pictures I like to go when it is daylight – which I think they call ‘off peak’ so it is quieter. I think once the lights are on, or it is a weekend it is ‘peak’. There’s everything you need here for the BIG Christmas shots – rides, food, cute hot chocolates, ice rink, beer tents, you name it! You might like to take a little light to make sure you look nice in the shots! Have fun and beware it will be busy.
Burlington Arcade
While you’re in the area, pop to Burlington Arcade. It is so beautiful and festive with lots of little shops.
Claridges at Christmas in London
Claridges is always so chic and classy! The exterior is covered in green Christmas trees with golden lights, bows and baubles plus a beautifully decorated glass dome. Inside the classic black and white marble floors contrast beautifully with the golden decorations, divine!
Christmas at the Ritz London
I wish I could take you to The Ritz right now and walk into those famous doors. There’s a wonderful Christmas tree standing tall in the hallway decorated with classic gold and red ornaments and bows. The afternoon tea area which I videoed but didn’t take pictures (who even am I?) is incredible with decorations all around the room and carol singers on the piano. You can wander into The Ritz to have a look but there is a dress code so leave your trainers at home. We hopped into The Rivoli Bar for a seriously pricey glass of Champagne. But it was delicious and hey, it’s Christmas!
Leadenhall Market in London for Christmas 2024
Churchill Arms, Kensington – Christmas in London
It is the same every year and it is WONDERFUL!
Sloane Square & King’s Road, London
King’s Road is really beautiful this year with loads of beautiful lights in Sloane Square. There’s also a 12 Days of Christmas theme around Duke of York Square -my favourite was the ballet style one.
Wild Things Flowers
Christian Louboutin on Mount Street in Mayfair
What happens when you take fashion designer Christian Louboutin’s famous red soles and turn them into a Christmas tree? A very chic festive number in Mayfair.
Christmas at Scott’s Restaurant, Mayfair
I’ve got a LOT of time for this festive installation which leans into the night sky. There’s sparkling moons and shiny stars in a crescent moon formation. Very luxe. Very charming.
John and Jessie / Jack & Jessie – Christmas in London
Hedonism Wines, Mayfair
I LOVE Hedonism Wine’s commitment to the seasons! This display with Beluga display has cute gingerbread houses with surprises hidden inside.
The Connaught Hotel, Mayfair
While you’re in Mayfair and Mount Street I love walking past The Connaught Hotel. This tall Christmas tree has chic oversized decorations with the luxury hotel in the background.
Boodles, Mayfair
If you like cute Christmas bears, you’ll love this Boodles display. The pink branding is super cute in this luxury Christmas setting.
