When to Post on Social Media over Easter

by | Apr 15, 2025 | Blog, Feature, Seasonal | 0 comments

Do I have an obsession with seasonal content? 100% yes. Ever since Miley Cyrus’s Easter-themed Vogue shoot in 2018 (niche, I know), I’ve been completely sold on creating beautifully themed content for the holidays.

If you’re a fellow content creator, brand, or small business getting ready for Easter, let’s talk about making the most of this colourful, spring-soaked season on social media.

We’ll cover when to post, what to post, and how to keep your content blooming with joy and engagement this Easter. Whether you’re planning Spring crafts and decorations, brunch outfit inspo, or your own Easter Egg Hunt, I’ve got you covered. I know everyone is different, and what works for me, might not work for you…but if it helps get your content out there, let’s do it!

🗓️ When Should I Post on Social Media for Easter?

Start early. Just like posting over Christmas, post as early as possible for Easter content.

Aim to begin teasing Easter content as soon as you can after Valentine’s Day (14 February).

You might need to use your judgement as Easter does move around. So if it falls in mid April and you’re a restaurant with a special Afternoon Tea, post your Easter offers as early as you can so people can book their Easter meals. If you’re a content creator, it makes sense to plan and shoot content early, but you might like to wait until a month before Easter to post it.

It makes sense to front-load that Easter content. Basically don’t wait or hold back your content. Post your BEST content up front! If you wait, the feeds might be oversaturated with Easter content.

You may be still creating Easter content up to the Easter weekend, in that case speed edit those posts and get them LIVE! OR save them in your archive for teaser posts next year. I LOVE doing this!

🔍 How Will People Find My Easter Content?

As soon as you have your Easter and Spring products or content, add it to your website, blog and social media. If you create a special landing page and add a banner on the home page, that can ensure people can find the Easter content easily. A dedicated URL helps for linking back from Instagram Stories or Pinterest pins. Make your content searchable. Think SEO-friendly captions, titles and thumbnails.

⏰ How Often Should I Post?

Easter comes to a hard stop on Easter Monday, so if you have amazing Easter content, post as frequently as you need to before then. Every day or even twice a day if you have the content.

Remember this time is very busy with Mother’s Day (in the UK) and start of Spring so feed messages in amongst your other posts.

If your content includes florals and springtime vibes, you can easily extend the season into early April, especially if Easter falls later.

🐰 What Should I Post for Easter?

  • Best Easter content from previous years – flashbacks of great outfits, crafts, food, flowers. Even if it’s from 2023 or 2022, it’s fair game!
  • Easter Home and Lifestyle content – Think Easter wreaths, spring flower arranging, Easter bookcases, spring crafts and decorations
  • Foodie content – Easter themed easy bakes, Afternoon Teas, Hot Cross Buns, mini eggs, spring cocktails and tablescapes.
  • Easter Outfit inspo – Florals? Groundbreaking. But still adorable. Think Easter getaways as well so outfits for mini breaks and spring staycations.
  • Local Easter events – If you’re in London, there are usually egg hunts, pop-ups, and installations worth sharing.
  • Behind-the-scenes content – Prepping Easter baskets? Brunch planning? Share the process!
  • Easter gift guides – From foodie treats to home décor, curate your faves.

📉 What Happens to Social Media Over Easter?

Unlike Christmas, social media doesn’t totally drop off over Easter, but people do check out. Expect a slower engagement dip over the long weekend, And that’s ok! Feel free to take your own time off too. There’s more to life than Reels!

🌳 Should I Post on Good Friday?

If you’re on holiday, just relax! Post in the moment if you wish. Keep things simple as it is likely to be quieter.

🌳 Should I Post on Easter Sunday?

You don’t have to, but if you do—make it cheerful, colourful and short! Schedule a post if you’re planning time offline. A carousel of Easter related pics – a mixture of behind the scenes and more professional will always go down well.

🗓️ What About Easter Monday?

It’s still part of the holiday mood, so soft-sell content works best. Think Easter leftovers or our top looks from the weekend. A roundup video Reel works well here. Finish off with a flourish and file all the content in a folder called EASTER for next year! I love an archive.

🌸 Final Tip:

Take notes! What worked? What flopped? Keep a running doc on your phone for Easter content ideas. You’ll thank yourself next year.
