Welcome to my Taylor Swift Walking Tour for Camden Market, Primrose Hill & Hampstead Heath. I also have a Taylor Swift Walking Tour for Kensington to Notting Hill you can read here. If you’ve listened to the Lover album, you’ll know that Taylor enjoys walking Camden Market in the afternoon. She also name checks Hampstead in So Long London from The Tortured Poets Department. AND she has visited AND rumoured to have lived in Primrose Hill. Let’s go on a Taylor Swift Walking Tour Camden Market to Primrose Hill and Hampstead Heath
Swifties Guide starting at Camden Market to Primrose Hill & ending at Hampstead Heath
Step 1 Camden Town Tube Station
Head 4 minutes walk up Camden High Street until you hit Camden Market on your left hand side. Here you’ll find fantastic food places and the VERY Instagrammable yellow and orange umbrellas. This walking tour really suits Lover vibes so that’s what I picked to wear!
Step 2 Regent’s Canal
Head down towards the tube station and start to walk right down Regent’s Park Towpath. If you want to head to London Zoo – read step 3. If you’d like to skip it, go to step 4
Step 3 (optional) Regent’s Park & London Zoo
Walk for around 15 minutes and you’ll be able to enter Regent’s Park along the Broadwalk. Walk right to go past London Zoo (and enter if you have time) where Taylor visited in 2012.
Step 4 – Primrose Hill (Primrose Hill Viewpoint in Google Maps)
After a short walk of around 10 minutes (this is a 25 minute walk in total) you’ll head right up stairs to Gloucester Avenue. Walk along Princess Road and head right on Regent’s Park Road. You’ll see Primrose Hill rising high, grab coffee and food before you head up and take photos at the phone booths at the bottom. The views are spectacular so take a rest here. Taylor was photographed here in 2012 and she’s rumoured to have rented a place here more recently.
Step 5 – Hampstead Heath
A 30 minute walk away you’ll get to a ‘house by the heath’. I’m not sure which house she meant exactly but you will certainly have plenty to see in Hampstead! Head out of the park (in the opposite way you came) on Primrose Hill Road. Veer right when the road splits onto England’s Lane. At the lights go right onto Haverstock Hill and then left onto Parkhill Road, Follow this until you get to Fleet Road. Make a left onto Roderick Road to enter the park.
Step 6 Option 1 – Finish in Hampstead (read on for alternatives)
To finish, walk an extra 10 minutes to get to the Parliament Hill Viewpoint (pop this into Google Maps) and then make your way back to the High Street to look at the shops. One of Taylor’s favourite pubs is apparently the picturesque Holly Bush Pub which is very close to the Hampstead Heath tube to head home.
Step 6 Option 2 – Kenwood House, Hill Garden & Pergola and Spaniards Inn
An alternative would be to make the 24 minute walk to the stunning white Kenwood House where there is a lovely cafe.
If you are feeling adventurous, I recommend a 23 minute walk to the stunning Hill Garden and Pergola for photos. To finish go to Taylor’s rumoured favourite pub the Spaniards Inn which is ten minutes from here. You’ll be 35 minutes walk from Hampstead Heath tube to finish your walk.
This walk will take half a day because you really need to take time to enjoy each location. A full day trip would be ideal. Feel free to skip stops or do it in reverse if you prefer. DM me on Instagram with any questions!
