If you love flowers, fashion and a little London magic, I have discovered an exhibition that feels like it was made for flower fans.
Fleurs de Villes DIANA has arrived at Somerset House, bringing some of Princess Diana’s most iconic outfits to life through the art of floral design.
Instead of fabric, the dresses have been recreated using fresh flowers, foliage and intricate botanical details, with floral designers interpreting Diana’s memorable looks in their own creative ways.
I was lucky enough to visit the exhibition preview, and although I didn’t have as long as I would have liked to capture every detail, I couldn’t wait to share a little of what I saw.
The exhibition runs from 16 September to 6 October 2026.

What is Fleurs de Villes DIANA?
Fleurs de Villes DIANA is a floral exhibition inspired by Princess Diana’s iconic fashion and her humanitarian legacy.
The exhibition features floral interpretations of some of her best-known outfits, with creations by a range of talented florists.
From elegant evening gowns and colourful day dresses to distinctive accessories and elaborate floral surroundings, each display brings a different part of Diana’s story to life.
The exhibition is being held at Somerset House in London, making it a lovely addition to a day exploring the city.
And if you’re anything like me, you might find yourself wishing you could take some of the floral interiors home!

My Favourite Floral Dresses from the Exhibition
There were so many beautiful creations to discover, but these were some of the details that particularly caught my eye.
1. The Claridge’s Pink and White Floral Gown
This was probably my favourite creation in the exhibition.
Inspired by a Catherine Walker gown, the dress was recreated in soft pinks and whites, with beautiful flowers including roses, peonies, hydrangeas and forget-me-nots.
The floral styling was exquisite, with a pink clutch bag and tiara completing the look.
But what really made this display special was the setting.
The dress was surrounded by an abundance of fresh flowers, including an enormous floral fireplace and an archway.
It was basically my dream room. I could have stayed there for much longer, taking in all the details.

2. The Purple Dress Inspired by Diana’s White House Dance
Do you remember the iconic night when Princess Diana danced with John Travolta at the White House?
That memorable moment has been reimagined through dark, inky purple flowers.
Cloud Hill Flowers used orchids, delphiniums and hydrangeas to create the look.
The deep colours give this display a completely different mood from the softer pastel dresses elsewhere in the exhibition.
It’s a lovely example of how flowers can transform the atmosphere of a fashion design.

3. Diplomacy in the Details – The Pink Thailand Dress
the most beautiful dress worn in 1988 on a visit to Thailand.
Created by Art Flower Design, the red floral skirt moves into an explosion of coloured flowers.
The reds, pinks and purples is such a perfect combination.

4. Authentic Diplomacy – Diana’s Purple Catherine Walker Dress
I really really loved the detailed embroidered flowers on the bodice and the big purple flowers on the bottom.
I think these were roses and crysanthanums created by Blum Floral – just incredible.

5. Embracing Tradition – Diana’s Japan Dress
This super intricate design by Moss Floral Art is probably the most vibrant inspired by a Diana visit to Japan.
I love how they captured the red polka dot dress and red hat. It feels very Pretty Woman

More Beautiful Floral Fashion Displays
There were plenty of other gorgeous designs to discover, including a red floral skirt inspired by Diana’s visit to Thailand, a Versace gown recreated using dried statice and orchids, and an intricate floral interpretation of her work with the Red Cross and landmine awareness.
I also loved the floral recreation of the oversized 1980s jacket inspired by Diana’s visit to an HIV ward in Middlesex.
The exhibition moves between different styles, colours and moods, so there’s plenty to admire if you enjoy floral design.
One of my favourite details was the attention given to accessories.
Some of the floral designs included shoes, buttons, watches and other small details that made the outfits feel even more complete.
It’s those little touches that make you appreciate how much work goes into creating something like this.

The Floral Fireplaces and Exhibition Design
The dresses aren’t the only things worth looking at.
Several of the displays are surrounded by impressive floral installations, including fireplaces, arches and large-scale arrangements.
There was one fireplace in particular that made me think:
I really need to start adding more flowers to my fireplace!
The floral surroundings help transform the exhibition into something more immersive than simply looking at individual dresses.
It’s a lovely experience for anyone who enjoys flowers, interiors and creative styling.

Final Thoughts
I really enjoyed discovering Fleurs de Villes DIANA.
There was something so beautiful about seeing familiar fashion silhouettes recreated with fresh flowers, and I loved the different interpretations from each floral designer.
I only wish I’d had longer to capture all the details, but hopefully this gives you a little taste of what to expect.
For me, the soft pink and white Claridge’s creation was a particular highlight. The combination of flowers, fashion and the beautiful setting was exactly my kind of thing.
And if you love flowers as much as I do, I think you’ll find plenty to admire.
