PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Young Chef Young Waiter is a 40 year old competition which was relaunched and revitalised in 2019 by president of the Restaurant Association Robert Walton MBE and UKHospitality. The concept is to recruit the best young chefs and waiters from across the UK to compete at the live finals in London. Celebrity chef judges include Theo Randall, Jason Atherton and Tom Aikens plus the awards were presented by Masterchef’s John Torode.

EVALUATION

Young Chef Young Waiter 2019 was a huge success from the personal journeys of the competitors to the awareness created for this revamped concept. YCYW enjoyed 32 pieces of coverage including BBC London who covered our final at Quaglino’s to an estimated 1 million viewers plus Theo Randall chatted about his role of Head Judge on Saturday Kitchen. Our social media platforms which were set up in July 2019 enjoyed impressions of 93,062 on Instagram and 70,000 on Twitter over the two day final.
